Sea World

Baden is such a sweetheart, he really loves dressed up characters he ran right up to the otter and gave him a huge hug and then just kept hugging him again and again.  

The shows are amazing that they are able to train such big creatures!  The whales were awesome.

About half way through the day we ran into the Fullmers, it was really fun to bump into them.  While we were chatting with them a little boy ran up from far away and started to talk to us.  There was no one around and we were concerned that he was lost, he didn't seem to mind.  Then after a while he was off running around again.  It was really strange yet really funny.  Later we did see him running around again, and then spanked a women on the bum, she had no reaction so we were guessing it was his mom.

Oh how Kya LOVED the starfish, this was her favorite part we stayed and looked at every single starfish and picked up every one that we could reach, and then some that I almost fell in trying to reach.  Kya would have been happy if we stayed another hour or two just looking at the starfish.  She would have named them all and asked if she could keep them all if we would have stayed any longer.

Since we stayed longer than we had originally thought we were able to catch the Cirque Sol La show.  So glad we did it was pretty amazing.

Lemonade Stand

My kids have been begging for months, yes MONTHS to do a lemonade stand.  I told them that it was too hot and when it cooled down.  Well it was supposed to be "cooler" but it was pretty darn hot out.  But it was too late for backing out; we had made the signs and made the lemonade and muffins so we set out every thing to have the best (and cutest) lemonade stand.  And let me tell you we didn't just make koolaid, this was legit, fresh squeezed and real strawberries.  We even put the muffins in paper bags with a "Thank you so much" card stapled to it.  I will admit I did do most of the work but the kids had fun, and helped a bit.  We stayed about an hour and sold out so I would say we did pretty good.  Maybe next time we will find some shade.

About 10 minutes in Baden said, "I'm done with this!"  He spent most of his time in the shade drinking lemonade but Kya was having fun jumping up and down waving at people as they drove by yelling, "Lemonade stand, lemonade stand!"  She is so very cute!

Girls Camp 2012

Here are a few gems from camp.  I had a ton of fun with all of the girls and I'm so sad to have been released from my YW calling.  There was lots of laughing and highs.  I love each one of the YW.  One of the nights this was built, it was pretty awesome.  

One of the nights this is how we went to dinner.  The leaders and first years got makeovers, I think we all look amazing!

Preston did great with the kids yet Bo didn't eat well and had a hard time while I was gone.  Poor guy was a bit dehydrated after 4 days.  There are just some things that a man can't do!

So the other night I was getting ready to get Bo clean and he escaped so he played like this for a while.

Preston's Surgery

Preston finally got surgery on his herniated bellybutton that he's had for about 6 months.  He doesn't do well with needles so before surgery was pretty traumatic trying to get an IV in him.  So after the 3rd time they finally got it in and then he was doing ok.

The funny thing after surgery was that Preston wasn't being totally crazy, he was being himself, on the louder side but still himself, but then he would throw in some gems here and there.  I didn't film a whole lot because I thought he was totally coherent, later to find out he doesn't remember it.
Here is one that I wish I would have gotten, so Preston had drawn an arrow pointing to his bellybutton before we went to have his surgery.  Then after his surgery he was asking everyone who came in if they had seen the arrow.  He asked the nurse that was checking us out if she had seen it, she replied, "No I wasn't in the OR so I didn't."  Then she took it back and said, "Oh actually I did see it when I was checking your dressing."  Probably because she had heard the question a time or two.
Preston said, "Did you look down?"
Taken off guard the nurse confused said, "No"
"Oh well that's too bad we could have had a moment."
Chuckling a bit she replied very quickly, "I guarantee we WOULD. NOT. HAVE. had a moment, I see that everyday, trust me we would not have."

So before I started recording the next one Preston asked, "What would happen if I made the flat-line noise?"
To which the nurse replied very intently, "DON'T there are people on this side of you and on that side of you  ... and then Preston interrupted her by doing the flat lining noise.

I didn't quite know if he was acting up because I had the camera on him or not but he seemed to really need help staying on task of what the nurse was asking him to do so I didn't record him anymore.  At the end of the video she was asking him to take deep breaths but he wasn't cooperating, it took him about four tries to actually take a deep breath in like she was asking.

After Grandma and Grandpa Greats it was back to our street for our own fireworks with Jace, Karis, the kids, and G-ma.  We had some pretty good ones this year.

IHOP = Dress Up

So on my Birthday I woke up to my kids telling me that they wanted to take me to IHOP for breakfast.  (They are such sweeties!)  So I told them to get ready and this is what they put on.  I guess the last time we went to IHOP we let them dress up so now that is just what you do!

Baden had a spider-man mask, cowboy hat, superhero cape, sheriff vest and badge, and his holster with guns. 

Kya had here princess dress, and shoes on plus glitter in her hair. 

The rest of my Birthday was dreamy.  We went out to lunch with my mom and dad at Flancer's and then Preston took me on a date that night.  He took me shopping and then out for sushi.  What an amazing man I have that makes me feel super special.
