Parties Parties Parties!

Just like every year, the Christmas season is packed with parties! This year was no different, I thought it might be different having the new one but I love parties, and couldn't miss 'em!

It started with the annual girls party. My friends from elementary, junior high and high school!

It's one of my favorite parties, I love to see all my girl friends and we have SO much fun every year!

We eat, play games, and laugh a lot!

Next was Preston's Grandparents party. It's fun to see his Stapley side, we don't see them much so Christmas is fun. Santa came and brought everyone a gift early!

You just have to sit on his lap to get it, Baden didn't mind...

But Kya doesn't particularly care for him this year.

Then it was the Brooksby's gathering!

Then we end up at the Stapley's for Christmas Eve! Where we ate, did our talent program, did our own show of Luke 2, Kya was going to be an angle... but wouldn't put the costume on so she ended up being a spectator instead. Did our candle lit tender mercies and then did gifts.

All in all we had a good Christmas season and fit in all of our parties!

Sweet Big Sister

So if you were wondering Kya is dealing with the new addition GREAT. She loves her baby brother! She will get right down in his face about a dozen times a day and say, "Hi, baby!" She never calls him Baden, only baby and occasionally buddy. She is always very helpful and very soft and very kind to him. She loves to hold him and stroke his head. She hasn't ever acted jealous or mean in any way. She always helps with the diaper changing and sometimes even gets mad if I don't put him down to change him when she wants to. She knows the difference between her binkie and his; and will always come running to the rescue with one if he is sad. She is really the sweetest big sister I've ever seen!

As for me I have adjusted fine, two isn't all that much different than one... for now while he is still so new anyway. He sleeps well and I only get up once or twice a night. It probably helps that he is such a great baby and that Kya has been taking it well.
I really enjoy being a mother (of two now that's still a little crazy to think) but I really do love it! My body is healing up quickly and I think it has actually caught on that it only needs to feed one baby and not 5 or 10... needless to say he's 'Got Milk!' We went to the doctor today and he now weighs 8 lbs even. So far he is a healthy kid.

I am being induced tonight at 9 pm so...

It is our last day as three! And we made a day out of it. Preston took the good part of the day off and spent it with Kya and I. This morning was spent taking our time cleaning up things, watching Pooh (Kya's new favorite show), Nemo, and playing. For lunch we went to Flancer's which was super yummy. And then off to Freestone Park to feed the ducks and play.

Kya had so much fun feeding the duck she was actually throwing the bread in herself. She would call out to the ducks to "hum on" which meant "come on get our food!"

It was a great day!

Doctor Update

So I went to the OB today, and here is the update! I am DILATED 2 cm, and 75% effaced! Which is good because last week I wasn't either one of those! If the baby doesn't come by himself by Wednesday or Thursday, I may be getting induced, not because anything is wrong, it's just because I want him OUT! So we'll see!

Money... I mean, Belly Shot

On Sunday Preston stuffed a balloon up his shirt, it was pretty funny because he had the tied end showing like it was his belly button. Yes his balloon is bigger than mine, but his doesn't move, kick him, or stretch out his skin!

Thanksgiving

This years Thanksgiving was with my Hatch side. We had it at my cousin Holly's house and had lots of fun. We don't see the Hatch side very often and so it is very nice to see everyone. We had the regular spread of a Thanksgiving feast, but this year I was more involved with contributing. I made the rolls, (which not to brag but were the best) and the jello salad. It was great catching up with the cousins and my uncle Bill, who I haven't seen for a long time, was even there this year! It was a great Thanksgiving and we have been so blessed.

Pie Fest

While it's still November I thought I'd share my the Thanksgiving festivities. We have kind of started a tradition that the girls all go to my mom's house and make pies together. I think I decided that if we were all going to be making pies that night anyway might as well do it with others. It has been really fun. It does take longer because we make about 15 pies instead of 2 or 3. But we sure have fun, and it does make it easier to have the extra hands too. This year we made 4 Lemon, 3 Coconut, 2 Apple, 2 Pumpkin, and 1 Cherry. It's always fun getting together with just the girls, and getting pies out of it is a plus.

Hickey

Ok so I know it's a little faint but if you look closely you will notice in the middle of my forehead there is a round red spot, also known as a hickey! While Kya and I were playing today, we were playing with a bottle nipple. We have done this quite a few times before, but with a different top. What we usually do is squeeze the nipple and then suction it to our heads. And we go back and forth laughing at one another while the top stays stuck to the others head. It usually only stays on for a few seconds and then falls off. It usually leaves a little round line... NOT a hickey. But this time it did! I didn't notice it till I had to get ready to leave for the doctor. I know it's not REALLY noticeable but hopefully it fades fast!

Other news I went to the doctor today, but there is nothing to report. I'm not dilated or anything. But I have had a few contractions every once in a while so who knows.

Busy!

It feels like I haven't posted for SO LONG! It really has been driving me nuts. But I have been setting up a site for our pictures, which has taken a long time. It's not quite finished but it shows a lot of progress. It has most of the pictures from the last year, mostly of my sweet little girl because that all I take pictures of, but some fun stuff too. I still have to download more albums but you get the gist. I wanted to have this site up and going before Baden gets here so that I can post all of the pictures not just a few. Don't worry I will still post pictures here but this gives me the power to post ALL of them!
Another GREAT thing is if by any chance I have taken a picture of something you are in you can get it from me. AND if you have taken any of us then you can add it to my albums. Pretty exciting huh? As of right now there isn't a whole lot of the albums with others... ie girls nights and parties, pictures with cousins, etc., but in the future there will be! I'm super excited to have this all caught up and it's been fun to get it together!

We Met BARBIE!

So Kya doesn't actually own a real Barbie but she has a Barbie toothbursh that she LOVES! And she points to Barbie every night and says "BARBIE" in the cutest voice so I thought it would be fun to go meet Barbie today. She was at WalMart, way out in Queen Creek but I thought it would be fun to go. Kya was a little shy but she loved it! Barbie gave her a purse and we got to take her picture!

Then we went through the toys I don't think I've ever let her just go through the toy section before so she thought everything was super fun. And she surprised me how much fun she had and she didn't even throw a fit when we left.

Since she was such a good girl she got a sucker in the car. We got her the new Tinkerbell movie and a Little People Castle, still no Barbie. But we did meet her!

Hockey Game

Last night we went to the Roadrunners Hockey game. I've never been to a hockey game or watched one for that matter... I was a little surprised that they just let the guys duke it out whenever they wanted. It was quite entertaining to watch.

We got invited by a family in our new ward. They have one of the box suites so it was fun to chill and talk with the others there. Half way through the game some older guy that no one knew, just walked in and made himself a hot dog, sat there and ate it, talked to us for a while and then left. We never saw him again, a little strange!


I guess some of the guys we were with knew the announcer guy "Even Almighty." So they made an arrangement to have Preston be one of the lucky ones to answer a question and win a prize at intermission. The question had something to do with the game the night before. Which Preston would have had no clue what the answer would have been if he wasn't given the answer before hand. But he did also get help from the psycho season ticket holders in front of him. They were a little put out that Preston acted like he didn't know the answer.

He did do a good job acting though.

He got the answer right and won a puck, foam finger, and a flag!

Right when the 3rd period was starting there was a fight in the stands between some white trash girl and a guy, she was full on punching the guy hard core. They even put the spotlight on them and everything. It was AWESOME! That's some quality people!


After the game I went to our Girls Game Night. We always have tons of fun together! We played games til 1 in the morning like we always do!

HALLOWEEN!

This year Kya has this thing about getting messy and didn't even want to come close to the goo. so Kya went to bed and we did the rest.
