Valentine's Day

For Valentine's Day we had decided to go out to dinner the night before so that we could beat the crowds. We had first went to Macaroni Grill but it was too long of a wait. It actually ended up being a good thing because we went to our favorite Sekai Sushi! And it was SO YUMMY. We had enough room for dessert so we drove down the street to Mi Amigos, for their fried ice cream. Sounds like a funny combo but it was what we wanted!

Valentine's Day was good Preston is so sweet and got me roses and chocolates. That huge heart was filled with SEE'S chocolates that were hand picks so it only contains my FAVORITES. I REALLY love See's! He is a sweetheart, he waited in line for an hour and forty minutes. It was WELL worth the wait. I have already devoured half the box! I know I'm really healthy. What I found funny was that they had the Nutritional Facts right on top of the chocolates. If I've got a HUGE box of chocolates I don't want to know that 2 pieces of chocolate are 800 calories... Just let me eat my loveliness in ignorant bliss! That's why I glanced at it and it when straight in the trash!

And this is what we gave Preston for Valentine's Day. I sent Preston on a scavenger hunt around the house. Each of the hearts had something nice on them and then lead him to somewhere else I have been reading a lot of Dr. Seuss book so, yes they all rhymed too. The prize at the end of the hunt was a CUTE card that Kya and I had made, and pink heart shaped pancakes.

I had Kya color the paper and then I cut the letters out. And yes the letters are popping off of the page. I know I'm creative!

Here was the kids half of the card, it all turned out really cute and it was fun!

I love Preston and am super lucky to have him. I love him SO much!

25 More Random Things

I am very inflexible; I had to go to physical therapy just to be able to touch my toes.

Keeping with the inflexible theme… If I lay on my stomach I can only lay on one side of my face, because my head doesn’t turn the other way all the way.

I love lying on my belly but since being pregnant I can only fall asleep on my left side.

I used to watch BET (Black Entertainment Television) everyday.

I don’t anymore.

…But I can still dance like a black chic.

I used to run like a black chic… I broke 4 school records in track when I was 14 and then my feet broke a year later. Not literally but they don’t work well, and I can’t run now!

I get ingrown toenails a lot; and the thing about “it’s the way the toenail is cut” is a load of crap.

If I have no where to go during the day I usually don’t get a shower until late afternoon.

I absolutely HATE being pregnant, but I love the end result.

I love to cook, and sometimes pretend I’m on my own cooking show.

I’m not very tall but I always thought I was. I finally figured it out in high school when the whole volleyball team lined up tallest to shortest and I was the second to last girl on the short end.

I am a real cheapskate, but I like expensive things!

I can’t flare my nostrils, and when I try I make a really UGLY face.

I have clothes in my closet that I will NEVER wear again but I’m afraid to get rid of them because then I really will only have 5 shirts hanging all by they’re selves.

I kind of enjoy some of the young teen shows on the Disney Channel. If the TV is still on it I some times find myself stuck watching the whole show. That one is kind of embarrassing!

I LOVE food and am hungry a lot, especially now that I’m feeding a baby.

I usually can eat A LOT more than my husband.

I never moved ‘away’ from home, I went straight from my parents’ house to living with my husband.

I used to be really good at basketball, and now I feel like I shoot like ‘girl’ and am a horrible shot!

My favorite snack in the middle of the night is a frozen chocolate chip cookie.

I am a coupon-er and am really good at keeping under our monthly budget for groceries.

I am a night person; I stay up way too late almost every night.

I don’t have a good sense of smell; it’s usually not a disadvantage.

I don’t like most condiments, I will eat a small amount of ketchup, but I could do with out mayonnaise, and mustard makes me gag!

It's a Miracle

Since my lovely little girl has developed her own opinion (about everything) it is harder to do a few things. One in particular has been that she DOES NOT like her nails trimmed. She hasn't let me clip her toenails for probably close to a year. What do I do then? I file them... I don't know why she will let me file her nails rather than take the 2 seconds to clip them but for some reason she does! She has been letting me every once in a while clip her finger nails though, only if I do Baden's first so that she sees it doesn't hurt. Well lately she hasn't let me do anything. It has been really disgusting, her nails got so long both fingers and toes that it looks like her nails belong on some scary glomy monster. Her toenails were growing over her toes and her finger nails were constantly dirty, yuck! I had tried everything I could think of to get her to let me even look at them. A while ago I tried telling her if she'd let me file or clip them I would paint her nails pink and she would be PRETTY like Cinderella. She wanted to be pretty... but she wouldn't let me do her nails.

So yesterday she saw my pink nail polish and said she wanted "pink toes." I told her she would have to let me file them. With a pink sucker and the reward of pink toes after she let me do her toes!

Then today she wanted more "pink nails" and she let me do her fingers! It truly is a miracle!

It was really cute she walked around for a longtime like I would if I painted my fingernails, I never do though. So I guess she's just a natural girl that doesn't want her nails messed up!

Cwhining

Preston started to do this thing with Kya when she needs to be happy he asks her to say happy. So she'll be upset and crying and he'll say, "say happy." And in the middle of her crying she'll usually say in a sad voice, "hap-py!"
So our new thing with her is when she is whining we ask her to say, "No whining!" So a couple days ago Baden was crying and Kya comes over to him and says, "Oh Baden... no cwhining." I was laughing so hard. She understand there is no crying or whining, in other words 'no cwhining!' I love it!

Just to Compare

These are both taken around a month-n-a-half old.
I think they look VERY similar just Kya looks like a girl and Baden looks like a boy.

We really do make cute babies!

Baden's Blessing

We were able to bless our sweet little boy yesterday, it was a great day!
Bryan and Natalie were there but they had to leave before the picture.

Baden was super good the whole time. I was smart and brought a bottle and fed it to him right before church. So he was completely out the whole meeting. He looked so very handsome in his outfit, thanks again Megs! He didn't quite love his photo shoot though, no smiles for mommy.

Then after church we had both sides of the family for the Super Bowl, I think we throw pretty good parties, if I can say so myself!

Good-Bye Mullet

Yes today was Kya's first hair cut. I was a little hesitant to get the only hair my little girl has cut off. But after a little convincing from my sister and sister in law, we got it copped! I didn't know how she would do sitting still and not freaking out, because she won't let me do anything to her hair. So we had dolly and binkie close by so she felt more comfortable. Natalie, my sister in law cut it and was so good with Kya, it also helps that Kya loves Natalie a lot! So here she is just before she got it cut sitting in the chair.

And this is the new do!

She cut it kind of A line and it looks really cute!

Fight FOCA!

So I'm not the best at being really.. um.. let's say into current events or news or crap like that but Preston every once in a while will fill me in on things. Apparently we got a new President or something like that. Ok, ok I'm not quite that bad. But I will say this, most people's basic home page is MSN (which has at least a few headlines on it), mine pops up with Google. So I don't even see anything, and yes I get the paper only to pull the coupons out of them. BUT ANYWAY Preston did inform me of this new legislation that is trying to be pasted called the "The Freedom of Choice Act" (FOCA). FOCA would establish the right to abortion as a fundamental right (like the right to free speech) and wipe away every restriction on abortion nationwide. Preston told me some of the details of how and when they would be able to kill the babies and it made me sick and want to cry all at the same time. I just received an e-mail to sign the Petition to

Pretty Dancing

Kya likes to dress up every once in a while, she always asks me if she can be "priddy!" She didn't want real clothes on she just wanted to be pretty! It made her happy to be naked and pretty.

Kya is pretty, even though she always looks like she just got in a fight! If you notice she has a bruise that goes all the way down her forehead, and she has now cut both her top and bottom lips. She's just our pretty hockey player!

Big Sister Kisses

Kya is such a sweet big sister! This is how I find her a lot of the time!

We've got a silly girl on our... face!

If you are lying on the ground Kya thinks that she has to climb on you. I don't know why but she likes to be on your head if she possibly can. Daddy had just come in from working and laid down and was checking his phone, and this is what Kya did.

What a silly girl!

Oh Dear!

Pardon my humor!
Anyways this one needs no explanation, but my mom gave him the idea. She had said while Baden had his blue faced, "Well, if Preston comes over with a blue face we'll know what he's been doing!" Preston decided right then that this is how he'd show up for dinner.
The funny thing was that he stayed like this all night for Sunday dinner.

He's a MONTH!

Time flies, this little boy has grown up so fast! He is still the best baby in the world. He cries when he's hungry, other than that he is just a content kid!

Oh My Blue Faced Boy

Ok I only share this info for the sake of explaining the pictures. I don't mean to get too personal or any thing but...
Evidently my body doesn't fight yeast very well because I seem to always get an infection while I'm breastfeeding. Oh the joys of feeding! I had several while I was nursing Kya and YAY it's my first with Baden! It's not itchy it just sends shooting pains while I feed and a lot of the time when I'm not. Sounds lovely huh? I started feeling the familiar pain right around 5 pm on Friday. Which lucky me, the doctors offices are closed so I couldn't get the drugs called in before the weekend! Knowing how bad the pain gets if it's not treated I sent Preston to the drugstore to find anything that would help. There was something and it has helped over the weekend... BUT it is a little messy, and dyes everything, ya know just somewhat, BLUE!

Isn't that AWESOME!

I had to go to the orthodontist yesterday and someone asked me if he had sucked on a marker! I wasn't wanting to take him out anywhere for that reason... but I had to.

New Years

For New Years we went and spent some time with some friends at their party. We had decided to party hop but in the transition from party to party we decided to drop Kya off at Grandma and Grandpa's. Since it was kind of late we ended up spending the countdown with them and never hopped to the next party. We kinda made our own right there. Whitney and Micah had dropped their kids off earlier that night and came back, and stayed as well.

This was our new years shot!

Yes all of the kids were still up to ring in the new year, there were fireworks going off across the street and they all wanted to see!
